Jamie's Furniture has come!

Her funiture was delivered today and it is soooo pretty! We just love it! I had to put some "pretty" things on her dresser and put her bedding in right away. I cannot wait to play with her in this room I just love it! We need to get the rocker/glider for the room and I am thinking about a Dutalier because they have just been so comfortable to sit in, and we need to get a pretty rug for the center of her floor. Of course I still have quite a few characters to paint, and I need a valance for her windows but it is all starting to come together!

Since receiving our referral there has been so much to do.....it is really hard to imagine! Of course first there was many days of celebrations, parties and get togethers to share her pictures and celebrate this new little bundle that we will call Jamie.

Then we needed to think about her room, that has pretty much gone untouched since we moved in. I need to paint characters on her walls, we needed to pick out furniture, bedding sets and curtains. I needed to shampoo the rugs and organize the clothes we have for her.....It has all been fun!!!!!

We wanted very much to have a care package sent to her orphanage for her. In the care package we can have them (Ann at Red Thread China) put:

• a photo album with pictures of us so that the nannies will tell her who we are
• Candies for the nannies to thank them for all that they are doing
• Jammies for her to wear, a blankie for her to hold and of course a dolly to go with it!
• a letter to the orphanage explaining what we want done with the package, thanking them for all that they are doing for our little girl, and a list of questions that we are hoping they answer for us so that Jamie will have some answers when she is older
• a disposable camera so that the nannies can take pictures of themselves with her, and her around the orphanage so that again, when she is older she will have a piece of her life before us.

As a result of sending the care package, Ann at Red Thread asked the orphanage (manager / director) for new pictures and measurements of Jamie. These pictures were taken of her this week! We received 9 new pictures of Jamie, and all new height and weight measurements....

Without further ado.....here are some of the new pictures of our little darling.....(starting with her daddy's favorite).....

I don't know which I like best....the second one where she is smiling and showing some teeth (she has 4 now!), or the last one whre she is looking up at us and almost saying...."what, can't you see I'm playing here.....".

We also have a ton of paperwork to do, some of it must be notarized and FedEx'd back to our agency. Some requires Cashier's or certified checks, some are ok with a personal check, some want crisp new bills from the bank..... So today I am digging through all of this and trying to get myself organized, and get it all done!

Our travel meeting is on Sunday and we will be there all day. Hopefully we will receive some translated medical reports for Jamie on Sunday, and most importantly start to get an idea of when we will travel. I am guessing......first two weeks of March!
