Time to learn something new.........

Time to shake the cobwebs off the brain and teach it something new!

I have tried on a few occasions to be more creative with photo's and play with Adobe Photoshop. Let's just say that I haven't been all that successful and leave it at that!

Well, not one to be held down it is time again to try and tame the photoshop beast! This time it is Adobe Photoshop elements, which is supposed to (or at least I think it is) be a little more "common person" user friendly.

I was in A.C. Moore this past weekend, (I love this place!!!!) and I saw this book, it was spiral bound and I instantly decided that I have to have it. Put something in a kit or make it spiral bound and not hard bound and I just cannot seem to resist.

Anyway.........I love this book! Each chapter is a series of hands on lessons that build on each other. There is a free 30 day trial of the Adobe elements software and some scrapbook designed pages included on 2 CD's. I am 4 lessons into it, and honestly at the moment just slightly confused but I think if I stop trying to do this while watching evening sitcoms it will make much more sense. That cat on my lap is probably also not helping my concentration!

I still have some photo's from when Africa was here (foreign exchange student - now lovingly referred to as "our Spanish daughter") that I want to share and hopefully this will give me a more creative way to share them all with you.

We thankfully, respectfully say good bye to the November 2005 families, you have all been matched to wonderful little angels and new families are about to grow!

Except that we aren't really saying good bye to all the November families, sadly there is an agency that didn't receive their November 30th referrals. My heart aches for the quandary that these families are currently in and I hope that it is resolved quickly and that you receive the pictures and information on your children very soon.

December families, congratulations! I had hoped to be a December family but my paperwork did not allow us to be finished in time. I have some friends that are logged in for December and I wish you speedy referrals! I hope that your month does not take as long as November to get through and that soon we can start to see some 2006 referrals!

This month the CCAA referred 5 days of log in's but again, not really because two of those days were weekend days. So Barry and I with a Log in Date of 4/3/2006 are now approximately 124 days away from having our turn in line. For our family and friends that are not in the adoption community please remember that 124 days is not in "real time", it's kind of like football time where a 15 minute quarter can take an hour. In Adoption Land 5 days is really a month so if we divide 124 days by 5 it should give us a potential clue as to how long we still have to wait. But we won't be doing that here because I am still hoping for a speed up and December's referrals will start to give us a clue as to if that will happen or not!

18 Months!

A year and a half!

Our paperwork has been in China for a year and a half!

I guess if we are looking for a silver lining here......we are maybe half way through our wait????? So, why doesn't that feel like a

consolation?

We have met some fabulous new adoption friends, had visits from old adoption friends and received lots of great presents lately. I need to get out my camera take some pictures and share all of this great stuff with all of you!
