Some experiences in life change your life forever......this was one of those experiences!
We have discussed it for a couple of years but this year we made the decision to host a foreign exchange student. We had no idea what a wonderful experience it would be!
We had a lovely young lady named Africa come and spend 4 weeks with us. Africa is from the south of Spain and we fell instantly in love with her. She was beautiful of course, but she was sweet and intelligent and very self confident. Barry and I speak no Spanish so language was sometimes difficult for us but she did an amazing job of speaking English and as long as we spoke slowly communicating became much easier.
We did many things over the 4 weeks with her and I will post pictures and tell stories of all our activites. These are pictures from her arrival and then the next day when we took her to the "Wissahickon Creek" which is a lovely secluded area for walking, hiking, bike riding and even horse back riding. We thought a quiet area where we could walk and talk would give us a nice opportunity to get to know each other but yet still be "out of the house". We walked a few miles along the creek, had lunch at the Valley Green Inn and then headed for home.
If you ever get the opportunity to host a foreign exchange student.......we highly recommend it, and we look forward to doing it again.
